Straight acrylic panels are the most widely used panel type in transparent pool construction — a single flat sheet of cast acrylic forming a pool wall, a viewing window or a vanishing edge. Their simple geometry allows the largest spans and the most economical engineering of any panel type.

How large can a single straight acrylic panel be?
Very large — flat cast acrylic panels can be produced and bonded to cover walls many metres long. The practical limit is set by transport and site access; beyond that, panels are chemically bonded on site into one seamless unit.
How thick does a flat acrylic pool panel need to be?
Thickness depends on water depth, panel span and safety factor. Our in-house FEA determines the exact figure per project — typically 50mm to 300mm+ for large deep walls.
Are straight panels cheaper than curved panels?
Yes. Straight panels skip the thermoforming stage, so fabrication is faster and more economical — which is why most transparent pool walls use flat panels unless the design calls for a curve.
