What is the difference between acrylic panels and glass for pools?
Acrylic (PMMA) stays optically clear at the thicknesses pools require, is up to 17 times more impact-resistant than glass, weighs about half as much, and can be thermoformed and seamlessly bonded. Glass is limited to smaller, flat panels and shows a green tint at thickness. For structural pool transparency, acrylic is the engineering standard worldwide.
How thick do acrylic pool panels need to be?
Thickness depends on water depth, panel span and safety factors. Our in-house FEA determines the exact requirement for every project — typically ranging from 50mm for small windows to 300mm+ for large aquarium-scale walls.
Do you supply and install, or design as well?
All of it. PRUVA is a full-service contractor: structural design, FEA validation, fabrication, chemical bonding, installation, sealing and lifetime polishing support — under one contract.
Can acrylic panels be repaired if scratched?
Yes. Unlike glass, acrylic scratches can be completely polished out. We provide both underwater and dry polishing, restoring full optical clarity without draining the pool in most cases.
